Students Honor and Educate During Black History Month

Students from Foxcroft’s Black Student Union (BSU) organized multiple events during Black History Month that allowed the entire campus community to celebrate and reflect on Black History. The nationwide theme for 2024 is “African Americans and the Arts," encouraging reflection on Black Americans' influence on visual arts, music, cultural movements, and more.

Throughout the month, students shared educational and informational videos and presentations during Morning Meetings on topics such as The Divine 9 and the Origins of Step. There were also vocal performances by Moriah F. ’24 and Ava D. ’26, as well as a Step routine performance by Raziyah M. ’27, Taylor C. ’26,  Ava D. ’26, Keke L. ’27, and Anais P. ’26. The community enjoyed engaging in Black History Month-themed Jeopardy for Battle of the Dorm points and Hip Hop Bingo at the celebratory banquet. Learning and fun were had by all!
