Foxcroft Celebrates 16 All-GPAC Athletes
Foxcroft’s fall varsity sports teams all had very successful seasons, with several earning Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) state tournament berths and multiple teams receiving honors for All-Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC) athletes, including one player of the year and one coach of the year!
Capping another winning season (12-6) with their third consecutive GPAC Championship and a #8 VISAA Division II finish, Varsity Tennis saw six players, including Player of the Year Olivia R. ’28 and Coach of the Year Susan Spector, receive All-GPAC accolades. First-Team recognition went to Flora H. ’25, Penelope M. ’25, and Mina O. ’27. Second-Team honors went to Kiki H. ’25 and Frankie W. ’25.
GPAC Runner-Up Varsity Field Hockey (9-5-2) finished their season at #5 in the final VISAA DII rankings and made it to the semifinal game of the state tournament (upsetting #4 Cape Henry in the process) before exiting. The team produced five All-GPAC First-Team athletes: Patty A. ’25, Helenka C. ’26, Ava P. ’26, Margaret P. ’25, and Flora W. ’25.
Varsity Volleyball finished a competitive season with five players recognized as All-GPAC athletes, including First-Team honors for Addie A. ’25, and Second-Team honors for Ruby D. ’25. All-GPAC Honorable Mention was received by Sophie A. ’28, Hayden A. ’27, and Greta L. ’25.
Varsity Cross Country had five athletes qualify for both the GPAC finals and the VISAA state championship meets. Those athletes were Chiara D. '25, Subira K. '25, Raquel L. '25, Ava R. '25, and Caroline W. '26. Finishing with her best time of the season, Ava led the team at VISAA with a time of 25:18.
