Foxcroft Earns Highest Recognition on the 2024 AP School Honor Roll
Foxcroft has earned Platinum recognition on the College Board's 2024 AP School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year.
This is the second consecutive year the School has earned that distinction. In addition, Foxcroft was also recognized with the AP Access Award for demonstrating a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success. The School met all three criteria for Platinum, including creating a college culture, enabling students to earn college credit, and optimizing students’ college readiness.
For the 21st consecutive year, Foxcroft has reached double-digits for our number of AP Scholars. Three Foxcroft students achieved the premier status of AP Scholar with Distinction, and one student achieved the status of AP Scholar with Honor to lead a group of 11 girls who earned 2024 AP Scholar Awards from the College Board for outstanding achievement on Advanced Placement exams taken last spring.
Class of 2024 graduates Grace Pumphrey (Washington and Lee University) and Isabella White (University of Colorado Boulder), and current senior Zoe S. earned AP Scholar with Distinction awards, given for achieving an average of at least 3.5 on all exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on at least five of them.
The AP Scholar with Honor award, given when a student scores an average of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams, was received by current senior Eunice W.
Seniors Kiki H. and Hailey Y. received AP Scholar recognition by scoring 3 or higher on three or more AP exams, as did 5 members of the Class of 2024 — Irene Boehm (Sewanee, The University of the South), Sarah Ford (University of Virginia), Gracie Rea (Denison University), Juliana Rose (Elon University), and Elizabeth Viney (University of Virginia).
The College Board’s Advanced Placement program provides academically prepared students with an opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit or advanced standing in classes for successful performances on AP exams. The exams are graded on a 5-point scale, with 5 being the highest.
